Do you remember Minecraft beta 1.8.2?
Hello, I am Max, and for the past couple of years I have been trying to find any information regarding the Beta 1.8.2 branch. So I decided to make this blog to document my journey and ask people for help.
Here is what I know:
- It was developed by a company called Fugitech Interactive in partnership with Mojang around 2011.
- It adapted to the player's needs by using an experimental AI technology that was developed by Fugitech Interactive.
- You needed to have a constant internet connection to even launch the game because single-player got removed and it was replaced by "Private Server."
- The servers were shut down between 2016 and 2019, and during that time, the company also vanished from public view.
- All the jars I found were deleted as soon as I launched them, and a few were infected with some sort of Trojan virus.
- It had a secret developer mode that allowed players to access a hidden development server called Cyberspace. The existence of this server remains unconfirmed, but it seems plausible since some players discovered ways to access the developer mode.
If I find any other information about this, I will post an update.
